General information

Your exchange in buenos aires, plus infos about south america

First things first !

From the Airport:

Your drive from the airport to the center of Buenos Aires will cost you approximatly: 30€, 35$US or 550 Pesos by taxi
20€, 25$US or 360 Pesos by Uber
12€, 15$US, 220 Pesos by bus (Tienda Leon).

All the drivers are jumping on you as soon as you walk out of the doors !
The stories about people getting ripped of, robbed or worst are true ! So please be careful ! You can only take the Remise which are black and yellow ! (check for the registration number of the driver).

Book a hostel:

For the first nights you'll probably sleep in a Hostel (or a Hotel if you are lucky). Depending on when you arrive the airbnb is also a good alternative. Here is what I recommend:
If you arrive at the beginning of January and plan on travelling first, leave your stuff at a friend's place (in Buenos I have contacts, you can ask me) or at a luggage storage. Then book in advance one week in an airbnb for when you come back.
If you arrive like I did at the end of February, book one night at a time in a Hostel. The 7030 Hostel in Palermo is really good !

Hostel 7030, Soler 4829, 10€/night

Find an apartment:

Depending on your university you'll have diferent option for your location.
I went to San Andres, located in Victoria (it is far !) and I had almost

2 hours of transportation each way. So I had to leave close to the train station.

My apartment was in Recoleta, between Jucal and Talcahuano, a 10 minutes

walk from the Retiro Station (train and bus terminal). I had to take the train

for 40 minutes to Victoria (Tigre destination) and then walk 20 minutes from

Victorias's station to the Uni.

Other than that,
Palermo: young, fresh and very dynamic neighbourhood. One of the most famous of the Capital for all the activities, bars, restaurants it offers.
Quite expensive however... and you will be surprised to see what you will find for 500$US ! Really bad apartments and shared bedrooms... so be careful !

Belgrano: a bit further than Palermo from the Center, could work if you study at San Andres but then you have to find something near the Belgrano C station. Lots of parks, restaurants as well.

Recoleta: more residential neighbourhood, very european in the way of living. There are quite a few bars but a bit more fancy than what you find in Palermo (which is more chilled/young). The area near the cemetery is full of little cafés and terraces. Most of my favorite addresses are in Recoleta ! I loved living here so much!

-photocopy of the first page of the passport

-cash (100$ Pesos)

2nd step:
