Sun, wine and rooftops a la Plaza Serrano

Restaurant #2

After a long day of visits to find the perfect apartment, I need a break. Who says break, says FOOD ! Perfect it is 20h, not so perfect restaurants open at 20h30. We are in Palermo, in the Plaza Serrano where bars and restaurants fill up the streets. In the pleasant warmth of the night, the Plaza is started to be flooded by people coming from all over the city to enjoy the terraces, the rooftops and even the tables in the middle of the plaza.

Enjoy the weather while it lasts, I promise it will be colder than you ever expected... But until then, tienes un rato para disfrutar! Entonces disfrutamos ? You will fine countless rooftops, patios, or terraces all over the city, especially at Plaza Serrano. Dispite the diversity of the restaurants' rank, the prices is the area are quite expensive. But know that you must go to this little nightlife beating heart while it is still summer.

After looking at the different menus, our hearts (and appetits) stoped for The Meridiano 58, Jorge Luis Borges 1689 en Palermo.

After crossing the main room and going up the 3 levels of the restaurant, the rooftop (not the one on the picture above) was everything we expected. The view, the atmosphere, the comfort and even the music. Plants were all around transforming the rooftop into an urban jungle quite appreciated. Personally I had a little salmon salad (with a lot of bread, well what do you expect I am french after all) for 12$US.

The portion of salmon was quite satisfactory and the dry fruit mix served on the side made the dish complete. The bred is fresh and homemade and comes with different sauces: mayonnaise, dried tomatoes, olive oil, aioli and pesto. Waiters do indicate that the menu is subject to changes over the months and the seasons, adaptating on the market.

Remember that here the cost of goods (and food) is not fixed and usually varies a lot due to inflation.

In a distant melody you can hear the Plaza waking up, it is now 23h. From the rooftop you can enjoy the street concerts and shows. They are everywhere. Tango, Salsa, Jazz, story teller, magician or even a man making gigantic bubbles.

For desert, my advice is (if you are able to stand up) to go to the closest and one of the best artisanal ice cream in town : Persicco, Honduras 4900 en Palermo.

It is literally around the corner. You can't miss it. And if you do, come back another day. You have the choice between more than 20 flavors and 5 types of cones, homemade of course!

Some of my favorites flavors:

# Dulce de leche # Dolcatta

# Chocolate con almendras # Casero con Brownie

# Frutilla granizada # Maracuya

First dinner date with the roomies and with Teresa, so to you guys !
