Trip # 3 part 2
Mendoza, 11°C-14°C
Wine tours, horse tours, mountains and more wine !
Our plan here was to stay for 4 nights with a couchsurfer was super nice and he was our guide for our 3 days. Do you know Couchsurfing ?
It is a platform where you create your profile and you can stay at people's places for FREE ! One night, two, three, whatever works for them. It is a great way to meet poeple, discover the city with locals and of course save on accomodation !
We went to Bodegas, Vicente Lopez, and after our wine tour was complete, we went to have the most delicious food of the area. A place far away from all the tourist trying to pretend they know something about wine, Chupica, Ruta 15, km 23, Perdriel , Lujan de Cuyo. One thing is sure, El Chupica (the owner) is a famous figure in Mendoza and I am sure that if you ask the right person, you will find the place which is quite hard to find. You can also contact me and I'll might give it to you ;)
Things you have to do:
- Bodegas, look for the winery that will satisfy you the most, from fancy to simpler. Free-15$US - Bike tour, to ride the beautiful mountains 15-40$US - Horse tour, if the weather is good 60$US for the afternoon - Termas de Cacheuta, an hour away from Mendoza, not so relaxing nevertheless but still pretty amazing just to have a look over the mountain. Bring flipflops ! And after March, check the weather. We were in the middle of April and it was a bit too cold. Some tubs are really hot (38°C) but most of them are only open during summer. 10$US for the day To go there: Go to the bus terminal of Mendoza,
Find the Butini company, Buy your fare (2$US both ways) .

What's the definition of a good wine ? It should start and end with a smile. Travels are like good wines.
